About Nelly’s

In Nelly’s, we love to get messy, be very noisy and run around with our friends, while learning new things. We are always keen to welcome new friends.

Nelly’s daily routine

Our daily routine covers a range of activities and incorporates a lot of outside play in our wonderful garden. We encourage free play to allow the children to become more independent and creative as well as letting them develop their natural curiosity and problem solving skills. The routine also includes time for planned activities so children can learn about colours, numbers, shapes, language and movement. Planned activities are formed around two different themes each month and are designed to encourage a deeper understanding of the topic.

Meal time is learning time

We enjoy a morning snack at 9.30am, lunch at 11.30am and an afternoon snack at 3pm. Children will be given an opportunity to explore and discover new foods and tastes, including different fruit and vegetables and textures. Each child is assigned a cot to sleep in between 12pm-2pm. Children will also move from sleeping in a cot, to sleeping on comfy mats with fitted sheets and blankets when parents feel they are ready

Sleep time

Nap time is on offer after lunch from 12pm until 2pm. In Nelly’s, parents have the choice of a cot or mattress for their child to sleep on. Staff are always on hand to answer any questions so please speak with one of us if you need more information.

Keeping you informed during the day

Parents can keep up to date with how your child is getting on at anytime by logging onto our online ‘My Nursery Pal’ system. There you can see how well they have slept, what they have eaten, their toilet visits and their mood, as well as any other information that we think you will want to know about, You can log on at anytime throughout the day, to check how your little one is getting on.

Main Goals

Encourage independence and develop social skills during free play, meal times and structured activities.
